Ho letto questa barzelletta(?) su un sito e la riporto perché mi è piaciuta molto.

Gesù, Gurdjieff e Mosè camminavano insieme conversando meravigliosamente quando arrivarono ad un fiume in piena troppo ampio per essere guadato. Tutti e tre si sedettero guardandosi l'un l'altro e poi guardarono il fiume. Improvvisamente Gesù si alza e dice "io posso attraversare", and begins to walk on water reaching the other side of river.

Moses was perplexed. He saw the burning bush and brought the 10 commandments, but it never reached the promised land. He looks the river and scared, but think, "Those two came after me - all I can do I should be able to do so." So he takes off his sandals and started to cross the river but it falls and begins to stir spouting, "My beard is wet, what devo fare?"

A questo punto Gurdjieff si rivolge a Gesù e dice: "Pensi che dovremmo dirgli dove sono le rocce ?"

L’esistenza, così come viene comunemente vissuta, è una specie di letargo, soleva dire Gurdjieff. Per “risvegliarsi” occorre lavorare duramente su di sé, occorre compiere degli sforzi coscienti.
La sua è una visione del mondo e dell’uomo che può sconcertare ma, indubbiamente, anche affascinare. E’ come se aprisse uno spiraglio da cui si intravede la possibilità di conseguire la libertà. La libertà di “essere”.
Si pensi solo a quanto sarebbe diversa la vita se l’uomo potesse compiere i suoi gesti, i suoi atti, in modo consapevole e non trascinato dalla forza degli eventi; a cosa sarebbe la vita se l’uomo avesse la capacità di giudicare senza identificarsi, senza farsi travolgere dalle emozioni. Questo non significa, come molti potrebbero pensare, che sarebbe privo di sentimento, tutt’altro, sarebbe solo un essere sempre presente a se stesso e agli altri, un essere consapevole di ciò che avviene dentro e fuori di sé.
Gurdjieff pare invitarci a chiederci se comprendiamo chi siamo, che cosa vogliamo, perché soffriamo. Interrogativi che tutti us, at one time or another, we have set ourselves, but to which we rarely give an answer "sincere." And
Gurdjieff seems to insist, so that the needle stop lying to ourselves and we have the courage to look within ourselves without cheating.
And 'what Gurdjieff calls a difficult task to do, but maybe worth groped.

The line of least resistance

Hello, I would like to point out an interesting little article where you define the line of least resistance. Although not directly a subject of Fourth Way I consider very interesting to define the subject, because from the point of view of these system are no more than eighth lateral descendants.
